I am sooo glad it's a Friday! I have 8 1/2 more days of school before summer! It always bugs me when people don't update their blogs so sorry if I haven't updated mine (not that I have any followers...)
I was so excited because on Wednesday my Battle of the Books team won!!! Woot Woot! We were the Ospreys and we went against all of the 7th and 8th grade teams. Going into it, I kept saying "we're going to cream you, we're going to beat you!" when in all honesty, I didn't think we could beat the 8th grade teams. I was so excited that we won, because we worked really hard!
In English we are still doing adapted Shakespeare. Here are the plays we've done so far:
Taming of the Shrew
Much Ado about Nothing
Twelfth Night

We are going to start The Tempest on Monday so our teacher explained that there are three main roles and they have ALOT of reading in them. She explained that if you wanted one of the roles, to take a copy of the play home. I really want the main female role of Miranda, just because I had 2 roles before, and they were both narrators. I don't mean to whine, I just want to be able to ACT! Unfortunately, all the other girls in my class probably want that same part- oh well, I will do my best. I know, if we still have time in the year, we will do A Midsummer's Night Dream but we may not have time for it.

Hmmmm...

Okay, so a few days have passed, and I have some free time (!) so I just wanted to say a few things. I wanted to make a blog not only because I love to read other people's blogs, but because I want to do kind of a daily journal type of thing. Have you ever read that book, Something to Blog About, or at least, that's what I think it's called! It's about a girl who keeps a blog and that's basically the book, her blogging! Well, I really liked that book so I wanted to do something like it!
Um, today we had a written orchestra final, as you might know, I play cello in my orchestra, I'm 1st chair :). My schedule is really messed up because of the 8th and 7th grade lunch schedules. I have to have 8th grade lunch, even though I'm a 7th grader, just because I am in the higher orchestra, which is mainly comprised of 8th graders (with a few exceptions, like me!). We already did the playing part, the scales, and I think we may have another playing part to it. The final wasn't hard, except I know that I didn't do well on the last question!
Switch these paragraphs around please: I'm going to do them in order of my day, so 1st, french.

I turned in my gorgeous, gel penned study guide that we are allowed to use during the multiple choice test. Tomorrow is the speaking test, where you get a prompt and have to speak about it, into a microphone on the computer, for 1 minute. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do to study for it, just to study vocabulary!

We had a substitute in Math today. It was kind of creepy, because she looked like a ghost! I'm not trying to be mean or anything, it just felt like it was out of a book or something. She was pale, and looked kinda haunted. She wasn't mean, but it was just weird. We had to have a math test, and it was stupid but kinda hard at the same time (ugghhh)!

We took one of those stupid reading level tests on the computer in English today. Last time we took it, I did terrible because my stupid computer screen kept flashing and I couldn't focus. Today, I did much better, although I still had a stupid computer! I didn't get the highest score, I just got around what everyone else got, which was fine for me!

Gym was uggh in the weight room as usual!

I will take this time to talk about Battle of the Books: It is a competition between the 7th and 8th grade teams (there are 4 teams in each grade). A team is a group of people that you have together for English, History, and Science. They do this, just so you are basically with the same people each day. I am on the Osprey Team, and I am the capitain of our Battle of the Books team. For Battle of the Books, together the people on you team read 30 books, and on the actual Battle, you answer questions about the books. There are about 6 or 7 people on our team, but on others there are more than 10! We got t-shirts for Battle of the Books on Friday, and I want to go to a craft store to get Fabric markers, and things to make masks with for our team. You do not need to decorate your shirts, or to make masks, I just thought of the idea to make masks, because it would set us apart from the other teams!

I think I have written enough for today, I will explain Science and History tomorrow, and I'm sure the post will be shorter!

My Crazy week

I am so dreading this week. You blog readers have no idea. School gets out on the 24th of June, and up until that day, everything is crazy. I am continuing my orchestra final (cello woot woot) and even though it's the weekend I am stressed. Here's how my next week will go.

Monday: STUDY STUDY for French final, Math test (not final)
Tuesday: French Final starts, staying after school to see my friend's chorus concert, gym test (paper pencil)
Wednesday: French Final continues, Battle of the Books (I am the captain of my team!) ahh!, English Diagnostic test
Thursday: French Final
Friday: keep studying!

The reason my french final goes on for so long (I am in French 1), is because there are 4 (4!) parts to it and each class period is only 40 minutes long.
There is:
-speaking test
-writing prompt
-grammar and vocabulary multiple choice
-reading and listening comprehension multiple choice

I know I didn't really introduce myself, so I am Maddie and I am 13 years old (in the 7th grade). I basically made this blog to vent about my life to nobody, because I doubt anyone will read this blog! It will just be fun to share a piece of my life with the computer, and the world!
